I uploaded some of my very first works, the ObjectDock icons, all in 128x128 PNG. Then I waited. And today I received an email telling me that my uploads were all rejected The reason was, as they said, file must be in ZIP format, when I uploaded pure PNG. But how about this guy?

[Note: link died, as was taken care of ]
His work is in PNG, not zipped.
I'm totally discouraged. Please help!

Just don't do it by committee please.

Hey Sir B. Relax, the committee will just be Web, goob and myself, we will be fair

A cool thing would be that there were sub-sections to separate the docks, docklets and png icons.

Just a thought.

Theres really not much to debate about it...the Icons already have a library and the Pngs are basically the same thing since you can convert them either way, so they should be in the "Misc Icons" library as well. The only thing that should be in the ObjectDock library are docks and docklets which of course have some sort of icon or png as its logo or what have you. Thats really all there is to it.

JAroche...As far as sub-sections...I think the advanced search already covers that and to be fair, the docklets are as much a part of ObjectDock as the docks are. Its really all about the application...ObjectDock is about docks & docklets.

an icon is an icon is an icon

An icon (from Greek εἰκών, eikon, "image") is an image, picture, or representation; it is a sign or likeness that stands for an object by signifying or representing it, or by analogy, as in semiotics; in computers an icon is a symbol on the monitor used to signify a command

whether it be ico or png

Gizmo is correct in his statements and it would make things easier

I will need someone to lend me a wheelbarrow, however, in order to move my stuff from the OD gallery to the Misc. Icons gallery. and I said lend not rent (smiley posted)

It would be easier to create a new dock/docklet library and migrate those over to it and then just rename the ObjectDock library to Misc Icons 2...since there are more icon/pngs in there than dock/docklets.

Now I feel bad, and I am confused.

I submit 99% of my OD Icons to the ObjectDock Gallery. I had at one time, tried to submit my TSWOC Icons to the Misc. Gallery but was told that that particular gallery was intended for the 'odd' icon, not for folder icons and such. So I resubmitted them to the OD gallery and moved some of what was already in the Misc. Gallery over.

It makes perfect sense to me to seperate the galleries (icons, docks, etc).

i guess what I need to know now is, where do I submit the icons, being folder, desktop, etc., or program, software, other, etc?

Po... until something changes.... The Misc Icon library is for ICO only. Doesn't matter if it's for a folder, desktop, software, program or what ever.....

The Misc Icon library is for ICO only

Does this include PNG's?
I submit the OD Icon's in PNG format.

.ico only to Misc Icons

.png to Object Dock

I think moving all the PNGs to a library named Dock Icons completely seperate from the Object Dock library ,would be a good start then the ZIPS containing dock icons which are left in the OD section could be sorted through later.

I do think that the Misc Icons section should remain ICO only, and Dock Icons should have a section, if for no other reason than minimizing confusion for newbies. It may be a simple thing to convert a PNG to ICO, but for someone just getting into this stuff it might seem like a lot to deal with just to change their Recycle Bin icon.

Seperate sections should keep the "WHY CAN'T I USE THIS COOL ICON?????" threads down somewhat.
